25 Mar .In its small way, artINGEGNERIA makes its contribution against Covid-19 in an active and concrete way by using its technologies and professionals.
.Together with our partner BFP Group (www.bfpgroup.net), we have enthusiastically accepted the appeal of Fablab of Brescia (www.bresciafablab.it) for the 3D printing of two types of components for the connection to the respirators, called Charlotte and Dave valves.
In the next days, the valves – modeled by our engineers, with the support of our machinery – will leave from Puglia for Brescia.
The ingenious no-profit idea of Dr. Renato Favero, which led to the connection valve patented by Isinnova (www.isinnova.it), is aimed at creating an emergency respiratory mask by adapting a snorkeling mask already on the market, which can be used to face the shortage of hospital C-PAP masks for sub-intensive therapy, a factor that is emerging as a concrete problem linked to the spread of Covid-19.
The prototype proved to be correctly working. After the test, the Hospital of Chiari, enthusiastic about the idea, decided to test the device on a patient in need, showing that the test was successful.
The patent is free, so that all hospitals in need can use it.
BFP and artINGEGNERIA are proud to join this project, because it demonstrates how ingenuity, digital technology and technical know-how are fundamental when consecrated to the service of humanity and how teamwork is crucial to achieve the goal.
We hope that this appeal will also raise awareness among other realities that use 3D technology to give support in this moment of national emergency.
